DETAILS:

620 S Lloyd Canyon Dr, Pine Valley, UT 84781

4 bedroom / 2 bathroom home with central AC on the ground floor and individually controlled AC units upstairs. Each floor has one bathroom. The master bedroom is located upstairs. Two ground-floor bedrooms have queen beds and sliding glass doors to the deck. Upstairs features a Cal-King bed in the master bedroom and two full beds in a separate bedroom. The TV is located upstairs. The finished basement has low ceiling height but includes a washer and dryer. Utilities include hot water, water softener, electricity, generator backup, Internet, and a septic tank.

Entrance

A lockbox is located on the front deck. You will be provided with a code to access the key and the basement.

Grill

The grill uses a small propane tank. An extra tank is stored in the basement.

Deck

All decks are covered and have chairs. The round ottomans (poofs) can also be used outdoors. Due to high winds, outdoor furniture may need to be secured to avoid damage.

HVAC

The main floor heating and AC are controlled by the thermostat in the hallway near the kitchen and bathroom. Upstairs units are operated via remote controls mounted on the walls.

Coffee Machine

The Jura E4 uses whole coffee beans placed in the hopper and makes espresso or Americano (3.5 oz). If the machine lights up but won’t brew, it usually needs more water (refill the left-side tank with tap water) or the used grounds need to be emptied (remove the center tray, clean, and replace). Contact us if further issues arise.

Water

Tap water is excellent quality and also supplies the refrigerator’s ice maker.

Trash

Each trash can has replacement liners stored in the bottom. For large trash bins, do not discard the plastic rim that secures the liner. All trash can be taken to the Pine Valley Trash area at mile marker 7. Do not leave trash outside, as it attracts wildlife.

Window Blinds

All windows have roll-up blinds for privacy.

Wildlife

From June through October, deer are often active. One friendly doe, named Juniper, may approach for food. Please feed healthy options only: apples, bananas (with peel), grapes, watermelon (including rind), berries, lettuce, carrots, and snap peas. Leftovers like apple cores can be placed in the trough at the end of the driveway near the generator. Other wildlife includes golden eagles, wild turkeys, and more.

TV and Audio

Apple TV is available for streaming. A Sonos speaker system is connected, and you can stream music from your phone.

Internet / Cell Signal

Cell reception is generally poor. Before your visit, enable Wi-Fi calling on your phone. Internet is provided via Starlink.

Generator

The generator automatically exercises every Friday afternoon. In case of a power outage, it will start automatically to power the HVAC system and refrigerator.

Hummingbird Feeder

Mix 1/4 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water.

Shed

The shed includes a trundle bed, heating and AC (controlled via remote), and functions well as a private office. A dedicated router ensures a strong Internet signal in the shed.

A BETTER LOOK

SIGHTSEEING

(you can go multiple times to each area!)

Zion National Park

Zion National Park: This is 1 hour and 13 minutes from you. Probably the shuttles will be running for the main canyon of Zion. There may be a lot of people on the shuttles, so be prepared. But, the town Springdale is quaint, and the East side of Zion has no limitations. On the East site, here are some recommended hikes.

East Side Hikes:

  1. The best hike is Canyon Overlook. It is easy to do, and has everything. For best lighting and pictures, I recommend doing it at or before noon.
  2. Drive further on the drive and there is a split rail. Easy hike to see petroglyphs.
  3. Anywhere on the East Side you can actually pull over and walk around. What we will look for are the big-horned sheep that hang out around there. So fun to watch.

Food: On the way out from Pine Valley to Zion National Park, there is a River Rock Roasting Company in LaVerkin, UT, that has hot drinks and food. For dinner, I recommend Oscar’s that is located in the city Springdale, which is at the entrance of Zion National Park. It is a local favorite that has great burgers, sweet potato fries, salads, Mexican food, ribs, and so forth.

Bryce Canyon

2 hours and 39 minutes away, but worth every minute. There are about four areas to pull into and take a small walk to see the sites.

Navajo Loop at Sunset Point: This is about a 2 hour hike, and is a real hike. But it is one of my most favorite hikes every. But it will be hot, even at that high elevation.

Food: Not a lot of eateries around there, so best is to finish up and drive to Cedar City, about an hour away, and eat at Centro’s which is an excellent pizzeria, with wine/beer, excellent salads.

Snow Canyon State Park

29 minutes away. I think you pay $10 on a card when you enter, per vehicle. There is lots to see and do here. Some easy hikes, and just getting on some of the petrified dunes is fun.

Red Cliffs Recreational Area

1 hour away. $5 or so per vehicle. Very much like Zion National Park. May be parts to walk through water, or it may be dry by then. Absolutely gorgeous red rock canyon you are walking through.

Pine Valley Recreational Area

3.3 miles away. Easy to bike ride to. Nice walking path through the forest.

Pine Valley Resevoir

Paved paths you can walk on around the reservoir.

Pioneer Park (Dixie Rock)

Free, 44 minutes away, and has an outdoor desert garden. You can walk wherever you want, and it is like walking on Mars.
